Some Sad News

We are very saddened to report that Natasha has passed away, Tuesday evening at Nathan Adelson House.  We loved her very much, but take comfort in the fact that she is in a better place, free of any suffering.  We will post details on the services for her in the very near future.

We also would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone for their kind words over the last few weeks.  I have saved all your emails and am very appreciative of everyone's love and support of my Grandma.  It has meant so much to us and helped us get through these tough times.

I also am working on an official website tribute to both Natasha and the Captain, complete with pictures and video.  I think Natasha would have been thrilled for everyone to enjoy seeing pictures of her glory days, and even though she won't see it, I know she would have loved it....somewhere she is telling all her stories as we speak :)  I'll give full details on this site very soon.

In the meantime, here are a few more pictures I was adding to this blog yesterday...

Tamara Natasha Heyer in Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey's The Greatest Show on Earth

Here are some vintage pictures of Natasha, some from her European tour with Capt. Heyer, some from her Ringling Circus Days....

Welcome to Heyer Family Updates

Hello All

We created this blog to keep you informed about my grandmother, Natasha.  You can check back here to get updates on her condition.  Four weeks ago, she fell and broke her hip.  She came through the operation, and was in physical therapy when her health began to decline.  As of last Thursday, she had been moved to the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Summerlin, where she is currently resting comfortably.  She made miraculous progress this weekend, talking and eating for the first time in 4 days (something the doctor said she would never do again).  Maybe it was due to the upcoming Academy Awards, as you know she is forever a showman....It was so wonderful to hear that Russian accent again! :)  However, she has been in and out, which is why we've created this blog to keep everyone up to date.  I included some pictures of her in her showbiz days for all to admire as well, so enjoy.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and feel free to come visit her if you want, she loves visitors....
